how do i convert a file larger than 100mb?

I only have the pdf version of a document (which is why I'm trying to convert it). It's 121MB. Adobe Export PDF, not very helpfully, tells me that it's more than 100MB (which I knew already) and does nothing.

I'm about to start trying to print the document as two smaller pdf documents and then convert those, but I'd love to hear if there are any other practical suggestions.

You're correct that Adobe ExportPDF imposes a 100MB file-size limit. You might want to consider downloading a free trial of Acrobat Pro DC, from which you export directly to Excel or Word format (among others). You're welcome do download the 30-day trial from this page: Download Adobe Acrobat free trial | Acrobat Pro DC.

Hi Sara,

Your suggestion sounded good. So, I downloaded the Adobe DC trial. It does not work for converting a file larger than 100KB to Excel. My file size is 1.6 MB. It is roughly a six thousand page document. After 2 hours, DC crashed. So, I tried again. Again, the program crashed. Based on my experience, I can only conclude that Adobe's new DC product is vaporware for this feature. However, I am open to suggestions.
