Question

How to combine files in landscape orientation instead of portrait?

I'm having trouble with combining pdf's, when they're combined in the PDF Pack website, they show up as portrait orientation and half the document is cut off.  I successfully combined 95 pdf's and they were in landscape orientation when it was finished combining. Using the same process as I did for the first 95 files, I downloaded 5 new files, saved them to my computer, and placed them in the same folder in "My Documents", I went to combine them and the final product showed the files in portrait orientation when they should be in landscape, and they were cut off so the full file was not visible.

    Hi Jeff Mills & Co.

That's odd! Has this issue only cropped up with that second batch of five that you tried to combine, or has it occurred with other groups of files? CombinePDF should honor the page orientations.

Are all the PDFs you're trying to combine in landscape orientation? (CombinePDF should honor page orientation even when you combine files with different page orientations, however.) What happens if you combine fewer of those five files? I'm wondering if there may be one or more files in the lot that is damaged, and causing the issue you're seeing.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

    Best,
    Sara

When I first started combining PDFs on my computer, it was messing up the orientation. Then I tried on another computer and it worked, but that computer is the same one that's messing up now.  Most files worked out perfectly, but some still mess up even though they're all the exact same. All PDFs are in landscape orientation. I've tried combining just two files and it still messes up, but when I combine two or more files that I've already successfully combined before (just to test it out), it works.   I've pretty much tried everything I can think of and nothing is working. Help!

I've cleared the cache, exited out of all windows, opened them back up, deleted the files I've been trying to combine, downloaded them back onto my computer, and tried to combine them again twice, with no luck.  I've done this on two different computers and I'm still having issues with the orientation.

Would you be willing to share some of those files on Acrobat.com so that I can take a closer look at them? You can find instructions for sharing files on the forums here: How to share a document
