Hi. Just starting looking at document cloud as a possible way of proofing artwork to clients without having to email the actual pdfs.
I can't seem to find out how to disable the ability to download the pdf file when they receive the link to it.
Any thoughts anyone?

That would be quite impossible. To view it, it gets downloaded. There isn't a separate way to "just view".

Hi MattFowlds,
What you are looking for can not achieved using Document Cloud service. When the pdf is shared generating link or using "Share" feature, the end user would be able to download it. You can only protect the changes to the pdf, applying the settings suggested in the help document here- Protect PDF files with permissions |
As shared above TestScreenName, to view pdf it gets downloaded and you can set restriction to just view the pdf.

OK many thanks all for your responses. It's a real shame as it would be a perfect 'proofing' tool.
Never mind. Some times we don't want to 'share' everything!!!!!!!

I think having the feature to stop downloads and just enabling view only (no selection/copy, no printing, no saving/duplication and no downloading)1 in the browser would be a very useful feature when sharing sensitive documents that you don't want to be downloaded. The use case is clear, sharing PDF without the need for embedded password management while using the reader logging mechanism. Use the Adobe cloud platform to see who has viewed, when and how many times. Unfortunately, I will have to use a third party system to do the same thing. Consider this a feature request.
The following platforms support this,
Dropbox, https://help.dropbox.com/files-folders/share/view-only-access
MS OneDrive, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/block-downloads-for-view-only-files-in-sharepoint-and-one...

I have the same goal as you. Would be grand to use the tool as a proofing environment.
