I just want to take an already created scanned pdf

Help I just paid to be able to convert scanned docs to word so that I can fill them out on my laptop. It doesnt work. What have I done wrong

You need to run text recognition (OCR) with the conversion; this will convert text in a scanned image to real (editable) text.

Both of these can do OCR. If you tell us what you use, someone can give you detailed instructions how to use it.
