Increasing occurance of corrupt PDF's

We are a document scanning Company in the UK, we send PDF's offshore for indexing and we get them back, (using Filezilla) increasingly we are finding more and more corrupted. We run a 'synchronise' check using WinSCP, but unfortunately the corruptions are not fixed. The 'Corrupt' PDF's open OK in WIN8 (PDF X-Change), however they will not open in Win 7. To correct the corrupt PDF's we literally rotate the PDF's in PDF X-Change and then save them. This seems to solve the issue, however I am puzzled as to why this is, anyone know anything?

    Hi Lan,

I can understand your concern, however it is difficult to recognize the cause of corruption of pdf file.  It can be due to :-

    • PDF was created with a non-Adobe program and doesn't comply with industry standards.
    • Or File is damaged.

However, certain methods to repair the pdf can work like the one you mentioned above.

    Thanks Aadesh,

This doesn't really address the issue, how can a corrupt PDF be OK on Win 8 and not OK on Win 7?

I do understand the causes of corruption, perhaps I should have made this a little clearer

    Cheers

    Hi Ian,

If I read your questions correctly, you're both creating and then attempting to open/view the PDF files using non-Adobe software. I'm not sure what help this forum can be in that case. Perhaps I don't fully understand your workflow?
