My annotations got erased from the cloud. ¿Why?

I lost my annotations on two pdf files stored on the cloud. ¿Why my annotations got erased? ¿How do I get them back?

The files were for studying so I need to make sure that that never happens again.

I was using two android devices to make annotations.

The same thing happened to me today. My file is a calendar that I update daily, including today. I went to check it just now and my data is gone all the way to June 4th. I tried logging off and back on and nothing. My wife logged in from her work computer and could see info up till July 13th. Still not up to date but quite odd that I couldn't see what she did.

I'm also wondering if there are past versions of files saved anywhere...

Hi Eduardo,

Are you signed in on both devices via same Adobe ID?

Are you sure you were making annotations in cloud copy and not in local storage copy of the document?


Do you have mobile Link option 'turned on' on both the devices?

Yes I'm signed in with the same ID

Yes I'm sure I was making annotation on the cloud copy.

Yes I had the mobile Link turned on on both.

I was working on the document on both devices for a couple of weeks with no problem what so ever, annotations were syncing perfectly, until suddenly all the annotations got erased on the document. Checked on both devices and on every copy i could find of the document and all I could find were copies of the original, clean document, no highlights, no underlines, no comments. As if nothing had happened for the last couple of weeks.

I got pissed, stopped using mobile Link for a while... then gave it another try with another document... same thing happened... no problem for a couple of weeks, I was happy, then suddenly, out of the blue, only the original clean document stored in the cloud.

That's pretty unusual...I use this feature all the time across my devices.


Try signing out and signing into your devices.

Moreover, Have you checked the files by opening them via browser using the Direct link : https://cloud.acrobat.com/recent
