Transfer open pdf files from iPad to iMac

I'm using a report (home inspection) form (from Carson & Dunlop).

I'm supposed to be able to email it, store it on the cloud and then open it on my other devices, my iMac and continue working on it.

It worked for a while, but now when I open the doc it's a flat uneditable file.

Anybody know how to get this working again?

    Hi inspector bob1249,

    Transferring a file between your Acrobat.com account and your devices should not alter it. Did you do anything else to the file, aside from uploading it and downloading it? And, are you opening the file in Reader or Acrobat on your Mac?

    I've emailed from Adobe Reader on my iPad and used to be able to open it from email with Adobe Reader on my iMac or a Windows computer.

    Today it only opened a flat version.

    I've also saved to Acrobat from the iPad and opened it from Acrobat on my iMac, but it was also a flattened version.

    I'm still not able to transfer or share the original document.
