    Hi garryw,

What version of Reader are you using, and are you on Mac OS or Windows? Do you get the same error when you try to print other PDF files, or is the problem specific to one PDF?

For starters, please try the solutions listed in this thread: Re: There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat /Reader. If it is running ,please exit and try again.(0:104)

Let us know how it goes.

It's Adobe 5.0. I have a PC operating on Windows 7. The problem was printing from something online. I did try to download a newer version of Adobe Reader. Maybe that's what caused the problem.

Actually I have Adobe Acrobat 5.0 that came with my scanner, Adobe Reader XI (11.0.10), and Adobe Reader XPI MUI.  Are these conflicting with each other? Should any be removed?

Basically, old Acrobat versions (before X) together with Adobe Reader was not a supported configuration.  But it may still work: using Windows Explorer, if you right-click on a PDF, then select Properties, what does it tell you it opens with?

What concerns more is that you have the single-language Reader installed together with the MUI version.  I suggest that you uninstall one of them.  In fact you should uninstall both, then only install the one you need: single-language or MUI.
