I would like to know whether I can update my PDF file on a free account of Adobe Document Cloud (https://documentcloud.adobe.com/), as I do in a Google Drive. With Google Drive, I can update a PDF file by uploading the next version of the file with the same name as previously uploaded. Is that possible using a free account of Adobe Document Cloud?
I have once uploaded a PDF (first version) to my Adobe Document Cloud drive. Then, I edited the file on my local computer (i.e. I made the second version of the file), and I upload the second version with the same name as the first one. However, Adobe Document Cloud seemed to save the second version as a different file from the first version. So, now I have two different files both of which have exactly the same name on my Adobe Document Cloud drive. However, I would like to renew the file on the Adobe Document Cloud drive, without saving the first and second version separately. How can I achieve that?
Hi Carlos,
Sorry for the delay in response.
When you upload new version of a file on Document Cloud and if the first version is already available wit the same name, you will get a prompt for Duplicate file name. Please check the screenshot below:
You may select either "Replace the existing file" which will update the file to the latest version and remove the older one.
Or you may use "Reame the new file" that will create a second copy of the file with a new name.
Hope that helps.

So, you mean we cannot update a PDF file just by uploading the next version of the file with the same name as previously uploaded in Adobe Document Cloud, unlike Google Drive, don't you? Are the comments on the first version preserved, when the first version is deleted in Adobe Document Cloud?

Comments are saved in the PDF file. When you delete the file you lost also the comments.

Final confirmation: To update the version of a PDF file, we have to delete the previous version and upload the next version, and all comments on the previous version are also deleted when the previous version is deleted, right?

Thank you for the detailed answer. I can reupload and update my files, follwing your instruction. However, the function 'Replace the existing file' deletes comments on the previous version and I cannot see them any longer. Is this an intended behaviour?
