When I convert PDF to word I cannot rotate it to edit. Changing portrait to landscape does not rotate imported document.

Hi barbarar,

Are you rotating the page in Word after converting it? What version of Word are you using, and how are you rotating it?

Best,

Sara

It doesn't seem to matter if I rotate it before I export it--when it pops

up in work it is in portrait even though the original document is in

landscape. If I try to change it to landscape in Word, it makes the page

wider, leaves the document as is and makes a second page for the overflow.

It is a table. I am trying to convert it so I can type in the information

rather than having to hand-print it.

Hi barbarar,

Are you converting via the ExportPDF online service, or Adobe Acrobat?

You mention rotating before conversion--if you're using ExportPDF via Adobe Reader, you can rotate the view, but that doesn't actually affect the page itself (that requires Acrobat).

In the converted document, are you able to select text? I'm wondering if the table is being treated as an image?

Would you be willing to share this document with me, so I can look at it here? If so, you could post to Acrobat.com and send a link to the file. Let me know!

Best,

Sara

I had trouble locating how to rotate the pdf once imported into Word as well but figured it out. Go to the Page Layout Tab. Under the "Arrange" section on the far right of the header, you'll see the Rotate option.

I apologize for any confusion. If you are converting a PDF to Word and experiencing difficulties rotating the imported document for editing, it may be a limitation of the conversion process. Not all converters retain the exact formatting and layout, including page orientation. however, I uploaded many converted PDFs on my calculator website gwa-calculator.com

I already solved this issue and the converter I used was converting from within Acrobat.
Thank you

Hi Caroline, I'm facing the same issue as well. Would you care to share the step-by-step on how you successfully converted your document with Acrobat while retaining the orientation? Thanks.
