Enable or Disable the signature types for the signer as per the signature requirement of the document in Adobe Sign
When sending a document for signature via Adobe Sign, you may enable and disable the signature type as per your requirement. The signer will be able to use only the enabled signature options to sign a document.
In Adobe Sign, go to Account > Account Settings > Signature Preferences. Check the box for the type of signature options you wish to enable for the signer. You can check all or as per the requirement. The signer will get only those options to sign that was enabled under the signature preferences.
The various signature types used in Adobe Sign are described below:
Use well-formatted signatures and initials: A well-formatted signature includes the signature date, signer name, and a line below the signature. You may also enable the options ‘Dynamically adjust line below the signature and initials” that lets Adobe Sign dynamically adjust the line below the signature to match its length.
When the option is enabled:
When the option is disabled:
Note: When a signer chooses an option to use the Image signature available on the signature panel instead of Type and Draw while signing the document, then the date and signer name is removed from below of the signature. Well formatted signatures include signature date, signer name, and a line below the signature. Date and signer name appear below the signature line only when they use Type or Draw signature type as an option.
Typing their name and initials: This enables the option to add a signature by typing your name or initials. If you enable this option, then only it will appear in the Signature window for the signer as option “Type”.
Drawing a handwritten signature and initials on the screen using a mouse, stylus, or their finger: This will enable the users to draw a signature or initials to sign the document. The option will reflect as “Draw” at the signers’ end. It also gives the signer an option to enter his/her name and save the signature.
Uploading an image of their signature and initials: This gives an option to the user to upload any saved image of their signature or initials saved on the device. The options will appear as “Image’ in the signature window for the signer.
