Is there a way to edit the text once a template has been created? I am able to edit the fields, but don't see any way to edit the actual text on the document.
I just checked another thread created by you and I see that you already have an Acrobat Pro subscription. You can make edits in the document using Acrobat BEFORE uploading them as a template in Adobe Sign. Adobe Sign would let you add and edit any signing options, but wont help you edit the document itself. Hope that makes sense. Let me know if you have any questions regarding the same.

Hi @defaultzsop9kv9asj6 ,
The actual text on the document cannot be edited using Adobe Sign. You may need to purchase Acrobat Pro subscription in order to alter the text in the original document.
Thanks

this is a terrible hurdle and should be addressed in future updates! Having to entirely recreate a template's signing properties because of needing to update a few lines of text on the original document is such a time sucker. Not looking forward to it.

Hi, we use Adobe e-sign for recruiting candidates to e-sign offer letters and we would like to change the text that is displayed on the action button. Can someone please confirm there is a way for us to update the text in the "E-sign by Adobe Sign" action button to something different, for example: "Accept Offer/E-Sign". Thanks!

This is such a limitation of the Adobe Sign product. If I create a template with a price on it for example, and it's full of initial fields, signature fields and other signing related items, and I have a price change, I then have to edit the price (one or two digits) in Acrobat and then recreate the ENTIRE TEMPLATE from scratch once again in Adobe Sign. It would be much simpler if I could just edit the text of a template through Adobe Sign. I would even settle for a way to apply a similar template pattern over a new document. This limitation is terribly disappointing.

This is a huge problem for me too. My template bad 150 fields. Is there a workaround?

The best solution I found is using form field templates instead of document templates in this scenario. Unlike document templates form field templates remember the exact pixel placement of all your form fields. Therefore if you make a minor adjustment to your PDF such as pricing you can upload that document and apply the form field template to that document to automatically reassign all the form fields you created in the past.
One good practice is each time you update your document and reapply form fields using form field templates, to resave the form field template so it continues to stay as consistent to the form field placement required as possible.

First...love the username! 😉 This sounds like a reasonable workaround but I wouldn't exactly call it a solution. Therein lies the problem...this is basic functionality of a system like this that should be part of the software itself, not something that we should have to solve or workaround. However, that said, I appreciate the suggestion (would've appreciated it more if it had instructions for how to create form field templates!! haha) and will have to go research how to do this in Adobe Sign/Acrobat. This sounds like it would indeed lessen the continual headache I (and apparently others) endure while using this product with my particular forms and agreements. Thank you though again. I appreciate the suggestion and any help anyone ever has with this matter until it is properly "fixed" by Adobe.

Hi,
I have been trying to create a form field template by changing existing template but the "Template Type" option under Template Properties is not available on my template. The Adobe instructions at https://helpx.adobe.com/sign/using/create-document-template.html say
Note: At any time you can change the type of template by editing the template properties.
I chatted with an adobe tech who had no idea what I was talking about even after having him read the page. Please help me adobi_wan Kenobi!

Aha!
We have to buy the enterprise plan to create a form field template! There's always a charge for every little option. ;(

Ahh thanks Kathy! It would've been nice to just have it state that somewhere so that we know we have to buy that to get additional options. Even on the site that describes how to create the templates it doesn't specify that. While it references things like "organization" and "admin", nowhere does it state that these instructions only apply to the enterprise version. So frustrating. smh
Now the question is...can I do that with just a "Teams" license or do I really need "Enterprise" level (which I'll need to call for pricing apparently...yikes!)??

I may have found a work around! I opened the template and chose "Download PDF". The fields were all intact! I used Acrobat Pro to edit the document. Then I went back online and chose "Create e-sign template" and uploaded the edited PDF. The fields were still intact! Please try it and let me know if it works for you.

Doesn't work for me. If I download the template as a PDF and open it in Acrobat, it's locked b/c Adobe adds an invisible signature that locks editing.

Hi clintc76388098,
Thank you for reaching out.
Could you please share more information about the issues? Are you referring to the Acrobat Sign template?
Please share screenshots or screen recordings to better understand what you are trying. It will help us to provide you with the correct information.
Thanks,
Meenakshi

Is there any solution here? I just spent over an hour uploading and setting up a template with multiple documents to find one small, yet important typo. Are you saying that all of that work is lost and I have to make the edit and reupload the docs and remake the whole template again??
