Announcing Adobe Aero End of Support

Hey everyone,

We’ve made a tough decision and wanted you to be the first to hear that Adobe Aero will be shutting down permanently on November 6th, 2025. This was an incredibly difficult decision that we didn't make lightly.

What This Means: ·

• Adobe Aero has always been free of charge and there will be no impact on your subscription.
• November 6th, 2025:
  • Aero will be removed from Creative Cloud, Apple App Store, and Google Play and will no longer be available for download or installation.
  • For users who already have the app installed on their device, the app will continue to operate, and users can still download Aero files. ·
• December 3rd. 2025:
  • Aero will be decommissioned, and users will no longer be able to access files.
  • Aero scenes (.real files) will stop working for both the authors and the viewers of the experiences.
• December 16th, 2025:
  • Aero user data will be removed from Adobe’s servers.

Holy ...!  That was my biggest fear in taking contracts.  What happens if Adobe doesnt ever move forward or discontinues.  Ive turned down over 25 contracts.
I did create some free stuff for people to play with and makes me cringe how bad I may look if those codes suddenly dont work.  They wont know the Adobe reason.  I would have bet this was going to be huge.  Ive seen and done things i never imagined.  My entire backyard is a AR western town you can walk around inside and out.

In our university in Germany we had a cooperation with the guys from scenery. As a student testing a lot of programs I created my semesterproject in Scenery at the end because it worked best for me even Aero still existed. I dont know maybe u can just reach out to them I personally also had contact and they are really open and fast responding. Can be a good alternative for ur students and projects maybe. https://scenery.app/

ONE MAJOR LESSON LEARNED.  If you made business cards, door hangers, or anything else being used with Aero codes, you may have to do some work to save those clients.  Trying to imagine had I moved forward with all of the clients ive been offered.  I turned down a $27,000 steakhouse menu contract with this same fear.
This is the second software ive lost recently.  Had a lifetime sub to Digital Juice and they folded.  Lost all assets.

We've been seeing great results leveraging the Scenery platform mentioned above. Bringing existing Aero project into it is pretty straightforward.

Interesting, you can bring Aero projects in without rebuilding?  They dont have a website with tutorials to grasp their product.  Just a way to download app.  Guess you just gotta try.
Curious....how are you getting your clients to be ok with using only Apple devices and no Android option?  That was tough for me until Aero updated and fixed.

Here's a proper tutorial/on-boarding.

It depends. Some of our clients are okay with iOS (+ iPadOS), specifically as it works wihtout app download.

That being said, the dev team is already working on a webXR player for cross-platform compability as well.

It's a not a drag + drop solution, but pretty straightforward to re-build.

I talked to their team yesterday and they mentioned it might even be possible to build a auto-conversion feature. Nothing for immediate release and potentially requires some budget.

XR Guy....Let me preface this by saying im not looking for an instructor.  But right off the bat, im a bit confused on how to even sample this app before you buy.  Feel like this cant be the case.  Thanks in advance for any help.

I downloaded the app on ipad, but to try it out they want to me upgrade to a paid membership.  I want to try before I buy.  This is unusual.  Am I missing something.  Can you not try this out with a small project and test the experience?

Sorry for the additional quesiton....was getting ready to join Scenery but their terms have a statement.
Says cannot be used commercially.  Ive tried to email them with no response, thought you might know since you are using it.
Can you use the Pro membership to charge clients for their AR experiences or do you have to have Agency.  I dont understand the commercial usage term.  Usage of app commercially or usage of experiences commercially.
I just need to know if I can use the Pro version to charge clients for projects and experiences.  The information about this app out there is so rare.  Cant even find Scenery groups to share with.  The Agency package has an extra feature concerning licensing.

The Agency plan definitely includes use for commercial customer projects.

But I've had very positive experiences with just writing to the team and discussing a suitable solution. Via email or Discord I guess.

Ive been speaking to one of the developers on LinkedIn about Scenery it looks amazing & as soon as I update my Mac OS to something more recent I will get the Scenery app on the app store as a replacement for Aero.
