In the last Beta-version update manual it says that it only works at the locations where in Google maps the 'orange man' can be placed.
And if you are at an location where that isn't the case, you can upload a 3D scanned file, to match the missing envirmonent. And then it should be able to recognize it too.
(Not tested by me yet).

You have to have the special beta version of Adobe AERO with google geospatial suite integration.
YOu have to sign up separately for it and get an invite. If you go to Youtube and search for the Adobe AERO / Google Geospatial Suite Tutorial, it should hav a link or instruction on how to get the sign up form. There are also some other recent threads on the forum with links to these.

The best way to see if a location is actually available to go to Google EARTH. Adobe AERO actually uses Google EARTH not google MAPS. Google EARTH is created using satelite and flyover imagery. In my experience so far, it does not incorporate user photo spheres into this dataset. That said, there are alot more locations available on Google EARTH than google maps (which relies alot on street level/drive by imagery). Even if your location is outdated on Google EARTH it may still work since the phone camera captures a bigger view than you see in your phone screen. There may still be enough visual data for it to tell where you are. Google EARTH is obviously limited to outdoor imagery.

Julia, legend...thank you so much for taking time to help, most appreciated with your insights.
My work I do is playground visualisation, so just keeping my ear to the ground to see if this new software can offer customer Google earth locations to then drop in our products for a quick augmented option to present.
