Adobe Express wants to post Instagram Reel as an image not a video

I created a short book trailer video in Adobe Express to post as a reel but when I try to schedule it, all I can see in the previewer on my desktop is a static image. Scheduling seems to work on my phone but I'd rather do it on my desktop.

I'm on Mac OS using Firefox.

Is this a bug? Do I need to use Chrome?

Hi @sharonb1929197,

Thanks for bringing this up — we totally understand how confusing and frustrating this can be, especially when you're ready to share your project!

Let’s try a few steps to narrow down the cause and get things working:

  1. Use Chrome or Safari on Mac: Adobe Express' video preview and scheduling features tend to work more reliably on Chrome and Safari. Firefox may not fully support all features yet — could you try opening the same project in Chrome and see if the video preview appears correctly?

  2. Check File Type and Size: Make sure your book trailer is exported as an .mp4 and isn’t too large — videos over 100MB may sometimes fail to preview correctly.

  3. Try Incognito Mode: Open Chrome or Safari in incognito/private mode and log into Adobe Express — this can rule out browser extensions or cache issues.

  4. Re-upload the Video: If you're uploading a pre-made video, try re-importing it from your desktop directly into Adobe Express and then scheduling.

If it works on mobile but not desktop, it could point to a browser compatibility issue. Let us know:

  • Does the issue persist in Chrome?

  • Is this happening with all videos, or just this one?

  • What resolution and format is the video you're trying to schedule?

Happy to keep troubleshooting this with you — we want to get your reel live smoothly!
