Animated text made in AE won't play as a GIF w/transparency in Adobe Express

Hello. Anyone else having this problem?

How can I play the animated text created in AE in Adobe Express without the background since the finished GIF does not work?

Here is what I have done/tried:

1. Make animated text in After Effects

2. Export using Media Encoder

(2.a. I have also tried the AE in app render using lossless, lossless with alpha, etc.)

3. Selected GIF Sequence with transparency (match source)

4. Finish GIF plays great on my computer

5. Import the GIF as my own media into Adobe Express and it does not play, it is only a still image of the text w/transparent background

6. When I create a H.264, the media plays great on my computer and Adobe Express but I cannot remove the background and can only crop the image around the text

(I am a PC user)

Looking forward to hearing from you. Many thanks

Hi Lyn, hope all is well. For some reason, I did not get a notice on your reply until rosie_5907's message and then I got an email notice. I just tried importing the animated gif with transparent background again into Adobe Express. It took several tries because there are strict parameters that prevented me from importing the original animated gif I wrote to you about. The animated gif must be no bigger than 512p or 10MB. I made a 1:1 ratio of 512p and it now works. Thank you for your follow up response and to the devs who worked on my inquiry. Much appreciated 🙂

Hello @rosie_5907 as far as I am aware there isn't an option to export GIFs directly from Adobe Express.

Lyn, or anyone, how do you export an animated gif directly from Adobe Express? (without exporting mp4 and converting to gif) - is there an easier way? can I create an animated eblast easy to export to email??

Hi @R.I....,

Thank you for your patience.

I just came across this post and wanted to see if the recent bug fixes made a difference.

Since you reported, our engineering team has been working hard to fix those pesky bugs.

Are things smoother now?

Please let me know how things are going, as I'm here to support you in any way I can, and looking forward to hearing from you.
