application freezes

You threw me in the deep end and I drowned. Apparently my MacBook Pro doesn't have the horsepower to create a poster in Express. I imported my first image and the app froze. Can't move or do anything with the image. Lots of memory, but not enough I guess.

If your computer meets those requirements can you give more information about what you are trying to do and the problem you're experiencing?
