Google drive add-on thumbnails not loading and error

Participant ,

Just started using Google Drive add-on. Great i thought, this will be a game changer. Except...

The majority of image files don't load a thumbnail - simple PNG and JPG images, so nothing exotic. Worse, after navigating around and going back a folder level, i get a "something went wrong error"! Something is going very wrong with the plugin.

impossible to use the add-on without thumbnails - I have thousands of images and even with good filenames, I just have no idea what's what. Anyway, I know this is meant to work - it's just broken.

Thanks,

Hi Paul. Thank you for reporting this issue. Our team has looked into this and found that an update in Google's APIs has changed how file thumbnails are accessed, resulting in the issue you're seeing now. Our team is actively working on a fix that will display your file's thumbnails as intended. We will keep you posted on when the fix will be available.

Thank you @mahmoud_5524 for sharing the feedback and for helping with troubleshooting.

Hi @Silicon Pixel,

Thanks for reporting this! Can you please grant access with editing for the link you have shared? I tried to open it, but it asked me for access.

For now, please try:

  • Clear your browser cache and reload Google Drive.

  • Sign out and sign back in to your Google account.

  • Ensure the add-on and browser are updated to the latest versions.

I have shared the case with our engineering team and will keep you posted.

Sorry - I ony recently moved to Google drive and got the settings wrong - try this:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/10v3Ox0po_O8XKp7rhnRRYYOOifmcIyz3/view?usp=sharing

I'm using Edge (Version 141.0.3537.99 (Official build) (arm64)) and as a web app on Microsoft Surface 11 (ARM)

I'll also try your other suggestions.

I am having the same problem as SIlicon Pixels.  It worked a couple weeks ago but not any longer.   I tried clearing my cache etc.  Still not working.
