I want to import my work on Express to Photoshop with the layers. Right now I can export it as a PDF but I don't get the layers in Photoshop. I do have premium.

Hi @wally1914, Having a native export-to-Photoshop format would be great. But Express templates are cloud-based and only work within Express’s simplified workflow. They don't share Photoshop's layer structure, and as far as I know, they won’t anytime soon because they are two different animals. I wish cutting-and-pasting layers in Express into any Adobe application was a possible workaround.

Would like for Adobe Express templates to be able to be downloaded as photoshop templates rather than png or jpeg and be fully editable from what they were in express

Of course you could save each layer independantly as a transparent PNG but who has time for that?

Hi @scottcarroll,

Thanks so much for sharing your feedback—it's truly appreciated!

We understand the importance of having a seamless workflow between Adobe Express and Photoshop, especially when working with templates that include editable layers. Currently, the Template Picker in Photoshop allows you to browse Adobe Express templates; however, editing is performed within Adobe Express itself.

We're actively working on improving cross-app interoperability, and a future iteration of the Template Picker is planned to support editing directly within Creative Cloud apps, such as Photoshop and Illustrator.

In the meantime, we’d love for you to share your experience and suggestions directly with our product team. You can do that here: https://adobeexpress.uservoice.com/forums/951181-adobe-express

Regards,

Tarun

About to be 2026 so it looks like Adobe does not want to make it an easy download that contains layer info? Weird. There is now a "templates" option within Photoshop to look at Adobe express templates but all it does is take you out of Photoshop and into Adobe Express with no way of getting that editable template into Photoshop.

Im having the same issue. Importing to illustrator then into photoshop does not work and greatly pixels the image. Ypu would think all these would export and work together.

I don't if this helps now but you can first import in to illustrator and then copy that in to photoshop to get your layers. A quick google search has some walk throughs.
