Removal of Background in video but downloaded MP4 has 'lagging' effect

Hey there, I was removing the background of a video and it was able to just fine, but when I downloaded an export, the "cutout" of my subject seemed to be lagging behind the movement of my subject by a couple frames. Resulting in some moments where part of the subject was cut off and in others, where the background was still partially showing. As far as I can tell this isn't happening in the preview on Adobe Express, just the downloaded version of the video.

This occurred with every resolution option and with both 16:9 and 9:16 aspect ratios. Is this a bug or am I missing a setting?

For legal reasons, I cannot share the video publically so I just DM'd you the files.

Also having the same problem. I have tried all the tricks in this thread and it still is happening. It looks fine in the editor but when its rendered, it lags and you can see the original background.

Hey @h6u4tdd, thanks for sharing this, this shouldn't be happening!

Could you share both videos so we can check and investigate this? You can send the original file (video with background), the final file (video without background), and the project URL.

Also, can you check with some other videos and let us know if they are getting the same issue?

Hi @tinam80599341,

Thanks for the detailed explanation! What you're describing sounds like a rendering issue during export, especially since the preview looks fine in Adobe Express. There’s no specific setting you’re missing, and you're not alone in noticing this.

A couple of quick things you could try:

  1. Export using a different browser or device (if possible) to see if the lag persists.

  2. Re-upload and re-export the project to rule out any temporary glitches.

  3. Trim the video slightly or simplify effects to test if performance improves.

If the issue continues, we’d love to gather more info to help troubleshoot further. Could you share a short screen recording comparing the preview and the downloaded file? That would be super helpful for the team to investigate.

Appreciate your patience while we look into this!

Hi

@Josh31205218n9vf

,

We're sorry for the delay. Are you still experiencing this issue? If so, please let us know which platform you're using. Is it on the web or mobile?

Did you try using the other suggested browsers (Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Google Chrome) to see if it makes a difference? Also, try clearing the browser's cache and cookies to see if that helps.

Regards,

Tarun
