This is the error message I get whe I try to download a graphic as a PDF (which I've done many times before):

 

Unknown image format.

Are you still having trouble with downloading graphics as a PDF?

If yes, could you try performing this action in a different browser or in private/incognito browser mode? You may even try after clearing the cache/cookies of your browser. Also, you can try rolling back any browser changes or disabling any newly installed plugins to see if that helps if either of those things happened.
