Hi,

I am trying to publish a webpage for sharing in adobe Express. When I try I get an error saying I don't have permission to publish and I should contact the adminstrator of the account to turn on permissions. This is an educator account and I am the adminstrator. I see no place to turn on permissions. What am I missing?

a 100% AI generated answer- which is something I have not cosdiered in the past:

If your Adobe Express classroom profile indicates that publishing is not enabled, it likely means your school or district hasn't purchased the necessary Google Workspace for Education plan (Teaching and Learning Upgrade or Education Plus edition) or hasn't enabled the Adobe Express add-on.

Here's a breakdown of why this might be happening and what to do:

Why Publishing Might Be Disabled:
  • To unlock Adobe Express features in Google Classroom, the school or district needs a specific Google Workspace for Education plan, such as the Teaching and Learning Upgrade or Education Plus edition.
  • Adobe Express Add-on:
Even with the correct Google Workspace plan, the school or district needs to enable the Adobe Express add-on for teachers and students.

What to Do:
  1. 1. Check with School IT:
Contact your school's IT department or relevant administrators to inquire about the Google Workspace plan and Adobe Express add-on.

  2. 2. Verify Adobe Express Add-on:
Ensure that the Adobe Express add-on is installed and enabled for your Google Classroom.

  3. 3. Confirm Plan Details:
If you're a student, check with your school's IT department to confirm that your school's plan includes Adobe Express or Portfolio/Behance.

  4. 4. Verify Account:
If you have a personal Adobe Creative Cloud plan, make sure you are logged in with the correct email address associated with your paid plan.

  5. 5. Follow Adobe's Instructions:
Adobe Help Center provides detailed instructions on enabling Adobe Express in Google Classroom.

Did this ever get resolved? I am in the same boat -- school admin and I get those same errors. My students don't get the "publish to web" buttons on their webpages or videos they've worked on, too. Googling the issue returns a lot of people having the same problems and they always end with someone from support asking the person to private message their account number as opposed to actually posting what the fix should be. It's quite aggrivating.

What helps is posting screenshots on the entire program when this happens. Most districts are pretty tight with their networks--- you may have to request they "Whitelist" the adobe express site / account for you, and for students accounts.   Teachers typically have much more access to things than students do using their accounts.

To whitelist a website, you typically add it to a list of trusted sites within your browser's settings, allowing access to features like pop-ups, cookies, and JavaScript that might otherwise be blocked.

Here's a general guide, with specific steps for Google Chrome and Microsoft Internet Explorer:
General Steps:
    • Access Browser Settings: Open your browser and navigate to the settings menu (usually found by clicking the menu icon, often three dots or a cogwheel).
    • Locate Site Settings: Look for options related to privacy, security, or content settings, and then find the section for site permissions or exceptions.
  • Add to Whitelist: Find the "Allow" or "Trusted Sites" list and add the website's URL to it.

Specific Instructions:
  • Click the three dots (menu) in the top-right corner.

  •

  • Go to "Settings".

  •

  • Click "Privacy and security" on the left sidebar.

  •

  • Click "Site settings".

  •

  • Under categories like "JavaScript," "Cookies," and "Pop-ups," add specific websites to the "Allow" list.

  •

  • Example: To allow pop-ups, click "Pop-ups and redirects" and then click "Add" next to the "Allow" section, enter the website URL, and click "Add".

  •
  • Open Internet Explorer.

  •

  • Click the "Tools" icon (gear) and select "Internet Options".

  •

  • Click the "Security" tab.

  •

  • Click "Trusted sites" and then "Sites".

  •

  • Enter the website URL in the "Add this website to the zone" field and click "Add".

  •

  • Click "Close" and then "OK".

  •
Other Considerations:
  • If you're dealing with a firewall, you'll need to access its configuration interface and add the website's IP address or domain to the whitelist.

  • Similar to firewalls, you'll need to access your router's configuration interface and add the website to the whitelist.

  • Some browser extensions, like "Website Whitelist," can simplify the whitelisting process.

  • If you're trying to whitelist an email sender, you'll need to add the email address or domain to your email provider's whitelist or allowlist.

  • In some cases, you might need to whitelist specific IP addresses instead of websites, which is useful for network security.

As far as I know I am the admin for the account. Who else would it be?
