Essential Features Missing in Adobe Express

New Here ,
Feb 05, 2025 Feb 05, 2025

Hey Adobe Express team and fellow users,

I usually use Canva for quick projects because its templates and features make social media and presentation design seamless. However, I decided to give Adobe Express a chance since I love Adobe and already use many Creative Cloud programs. That said, in the short time I’ve been using it, I’ve encountered certain issues that slow down my workflow. I know Adobe Express is a relatively new program, so I figured I’d share some suggestions to help improve the experience.

First and foremost, a desktop app is imperative. Having to constantly switch between browser tabs while working isn’t the most comfortable or productive experience. A dedicated desktop version would make a huge difference.

Additionally, here are a few specific areas where I think Adobe Express could improve:

  • Table Editing – There’s no option to merge cells when building a table, and overall, there are very limited editing and design capabilities for tables.
  • Line Customization – When adding "Lines" from the elements, I’d love more editing options, such as the ability to add different anchor points for start and end customization.
  • Color Palette Management – Currently, I have to save a color palette as a "brand" just to access it again. It would be much more intuitive if Adobe Express automatically suggested the color palette being used in a project instead of defaulting to a different one.
  • Image Effects – The effects available for images are very limited. More advanced editing options would enhance creative flexibility.
  • Multi-Page & Project Navigation – A multi-page option that allows quick access to different projects within the same workspace would be highly functional and improve workflow efficiency.

These might seem like small details, but together, they create unnecessary friction in the design process. I'm sure there are other issues, and some I have found workarounds for, but these are the ones that have stood out the most so far. Improving these areas would make Adobe Express a much more seamless and enjoyable tool to work with :).

Hoping to see these improvements soon! Would love to hear from others—what features do you think Adobe Express is missing?

Thanks!

Hi @RARESTRICTED_STUDIO

Thanks for taking the time to share these. These are some great suggestions. I think we might already have a stand-alone app option. Please see these pages:
Windows: https://adobe.ly/414XM8i
Mac: https://adobe.ly/40MumdF

For the other suggestions could you help us out by creating feature requests for them here? https://adobe.ly/413r72N

We use that page to separate out suggestions into different sections and users vote on the features that they would like to see added. I searched for requests others have made around your suggestions and found these in case they are close enough to what you had in mind.

- Merge cells in a table (Japanese) - https://adobe.ly/3CPi2Bp
- Dynamic lines & arrows - https://adobe.ly/414GgRH
- I didn't see the auto color palette option
- I searched image effect and found lots of suggestions. You might want to do the same and vote for the effects you like or create a new thread if you don't see any matching what you had in mind
- You might need to create a request for multipage and navigation. You can create multipage files, and you can store various files separately in a project, but I'm not sure if what we have meets your needs. You might have to create a new request on how you envision it working and how it would be used.
