Hey - Is highlight text gone now from this new version? I used that a lot - but can't see it in this new version. Thanks for your help!

Hi,

Are you referring to this from the previous version?

Since the new Express supports "inline" editing, you don't really need this mode. You can select any arbitrary range of text, change its color, font, font size etc. to achieve the same effect. In fact you can have multiple different styles within the same text object now.

There are some limitations of this approach relative to the old Highlight mechanism, but I won't go into that here. Please let us know if there's something that you particularly find missing.

Hope this helps

Okay, but this doesn't really address the issue of not being able to highlight text. How would I be able to do that, to achieve a similar style of highlight on Google Docs or Slides? Thanks.

Hi

,

Thanks for your response. Could you describe the desired outcome or purpose of highlighting text? Understanding the context can help in providing the solution.

Tarun

Allowing inline highlighting provide designers, especially info graphic designers, to accentuate text within groupings of text in another way which then vastly opens up more design options. Unless I'm not aware of a better way, I'm currently creating a separate text object with shape properties whenever I need to highlight... but I end up avoiding this because it's pretty tedious and un-scalable since any text modifications will throw off alignments. Not to digress too much, but highlighting text has become a regular part of information gathering from text for humans -- it's pretty basic to our comprehension process. So, we hope Adobe can bring this function back.
