No option for Locks & Restrictions for Templates

Currently making templates to share with my company for social media. We have locked layers in the build file - text replace locking, image replace locking, and regular locking for the background design. However when I try to create a template from that build file, I have no option for Locks & Restrictions. Apparently, I should have that option because I have premium for teams. My company have been considering adding more people to premium teams because we know that certain locking permissions require premium. But without the locks and restrictions option working, it's not currently worth adding 40+ people to the plan when we can't be reassurred that layers will stay locked. Currently on Windows 11 and Chrome.

Hi, @Tarun Saini Is there a specific reason why Locks and Restrictions are limited to inside the editor?

I was researching more on this since it's been a while and saw this post https://community.adobe.com/t5/adobe-express-bugs/what-is-going-on-templates-i-share-are-then-locked-from-me-in-the-original-file-too/idi-p/14851031

I saw they made their file a template while actually inside the file using the Share Button. I've been only making templates inside the brand or projects page before. So, I thought I'd give it a go and who would've thought Locks and Restrictions showed up. Still a problem though that Locks and Restrictions does not show up when you make a template from the brand and projects pages. Would really suggest you fix that. It's a pain to go inside each file to make template espically with a multiple page file.

Hi

@Kimberly33424214zpw1

,

I'd like to inform you that template restrictions are only available when publishing templates from inside the editor experience. Creating templates from the organiser will result in the experience shown in the screenshot you shared in the original post.

Regards,

Tarun

Hi @mahmoud_5524

I've attached screenshots in my original post but here is a screen recording as well. Adobe Express Screen Recording_041725.mp4

I appreicate your help and tried your troubleshooting suggestions. No luck on having the Locks and Restrictions to appear. I double checked that I am creating a brand template and that I'm in my Premium Teams account. I also cleared my cache and tried Edge.

Hi @Kimberly33424214zpw1,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing these details!

It sounds like you’re using Adobe Express Premium for Teams and expecting to see the Locks & Restrictions option when creating templates, which should indeed be available with your plan.

To help troubleshoot:

  1. Make sure you're creating a Brand Template (not just a regular shared project). Locks & Restrictions are only supported in Brand Templates.

  2. Check if you’re signed in with the correct Premium Teams account — sometimes personal accounts get used accidentally.

  3. Try using a different browser (like Edge) or clear the cache in Chrome, just in case it's a UI loading issue.

If none of that helps, could you share a screen recording or screenshots? This will help us investigate more deeply with the product team.
