Question

Replace a photo with another photo when using a template

I have made a template that has a photo with rounded corners in it. When I use the template to make another file I can't replace the photo with another one. Is this possible? I suppose it would be called a frame? Should I add an empty frame in indesign before uploading the layered file to adobe express perhaps?

Hi @kohesion. We are here to help. To address your issue, here’s what you can do:

  1. Adobe Express Limitations: If you created the rounded corner photo directly in Adobe Express without using a proper frame, the platform may not allow easy swapping. This could be why replacing the photo doesn't work.

  2. Solution in InDesign: You’re correct that setting up an empty frame in InDesign could help.

  3. Workaround in Adobe Express: If starting in InDesign isn’t an option:

    • Delete the current photo in the Adobe Express template.
    • Add a new rounded corner frame directly in Adobe Express (using shapes or masks).
    • Insert your new photo into the frame and resize as needed.

Let me know if you need help with the specific steps.

Thanks,
