i teach mobile production .... all over the place, in canada and the us, at several universities and colleges.

one of the keystones of EVERY workshop and class was adobe express --- i sold it as a swiss army knife of creativity .... which it nearly is ... EXCEPT ... Adobe purposely prevents you from importing multiple video clips into an accessable library ... and therefore, you can't edit layers onto a video.

if you want to edit a video in this so-called video editor aka Express .. you have to upload them one at a time.  there is no real NLE platform, big or small, mobile or desktop on earth that would ask you to do that,.

you can't call yourself a tool to create videos if you can't import videos for editing ... i spent hours trying to figure it out .... wasting my time, creating libraries and folders inside Creative Cloud, uploading video clips to them and then trying to access them through Express "My Stuff" ...

I was told that the video clips I tried to import into layers "weren't compatable" ... in Express. Yet, if I uploaded them one at a time .... the more difficult way Adobe has engineered in so we'll use Stock Library video .... they suddenly became compatable.

I agree. In mobile devices, they hit you with a popup "best to use one video"... Just say you do not technically support it and it "coming soon" than trying to gaslight their creative customers how to do creative work

This is NOT Good! I use to be able to do it through Adobe spark. Im a teacher, I used to use this to do my step-by-step videos. I could click on several pictures and videos to upload all at one time then add the text features to it. Why can't we do that now?

In the new web version of Adobe Express (new.express.adobe.com) I am able to add multiple photos and videos simultaneously. Could you please explain in more detail what functionality from Adobe Spark you are missing.

Thanks

Abhi G

I am pretty sure they meant Express on mobile device, iphone or Ipad. The most frustrating experience with Express on mobile device that there is no way to use web version to access better features

Absolutely agree with you on the frustrations with Adobe Express! It's baffling that such a widely-used platform lacks a basic feature like importing multiple video clips seamlessly into an accessible library. Your experience highlights a major roadblock for efficient video editing.

Exploring alternatives is crucial, and here's where CapCut shines. As someone deeply involved in teaching mobile production, have you considered integrating CapCut into your workshops? This gem of an app not only allows easy import of multiple video clips but also boasts a user-friendly interface that makes layering and editing a breeze.

What's impressive about CapCut is its diverse array of Birthday templates. They're like creative shortcuts, empowering users to achieve professional-looking edits without the headache of uploading clips one by one. It's a game-changer for educators and content creators alike, streamlining the creative process and maximizing efficiency.

Are you here to promote Capcut? hahah, I actually explored the option to switch to Capcut for editing, but I found the interface to be very confusing, and video and audio layers is exactly the biggest thing I did not like in Capcut. I was looking where to edit my videos if not Rush, and ultimately I switched to Premiere Pro and just like this software more and more

It sounds like you've hit a significant roadblock with Adobe Express, especially considering how crucial it is to have a seamless workflow for video editing. The limitations you’ve described, particularly the inability to import multiple clips into a usable library and the clunky process of uploading videos one at a time, are indeed frustrating.

If you’re looking for an alternative, you might want to explore CapCut. It offers a more flexible and intuitive approach to video editing, and you can use ICAL CapCut templates to streamline your workflow. These templates can be a game-changer, as they provide pre-designed layouts and effects that can save you a lot of time. Unlike Adobe Express, CapCut handles video layers and imports more efficiently, allowing you to work with multiple clips without the hassle you’ve experienced.

Switching to a tool that supports a more streamlined editing process might not only resolve your current issues but also enhance the overall teaching experience for your students.

WhatsApp Plus is a MOD of the base WhatsApp app which brings all of the salient features that users love, improving on that with some highly coveted features which users have been waiting for.

Although there are a lot of other WhatsApp alternative apps out there, the WhatsApp Plus stands out in the unique offerings that it brings on board.

CapCut is really raising the bar in mobile editing. It's incredibly user-friendly, packed with powerful features, and constantly evolving with updates. While Premiere Rush offers seamless integration with Adobe's suite, Capkutpro's advancements in mobile editing truly shine, making it a top choice for creators on the move.

even though at first I underestimated capcut, but seeing several points where I found comfort in doing:

- rendering
- effects
- sound
- animation
- coloring

makes me prefer capcut for my editor application, especially since I am an editor who is required to make at least a short video in 1 day, capcut really helps me, both in terms of speed, cost and also most importantly with minimal computer specs capcut can operate very well....

I hope adobe will immediately improve the quality of its products so that it does not suffer the same fate as nokia which is too confident with its products without listening to the consumer side.

Adobe Express currently lacks the functionality to import multiple video clips into an accessible library for layered editing, which significantly limits its usability as a video editor compared to true NLE (Non-Linear Editing) platforms. This design forces users to upload clips one at a time, making the process tedious and impractical for video projects, especially in a professional or educational setting where efficiency is key. Such limitations give competitors like CapCut, which offer more robust and user-friendly video editing tools, a clear edge in the market.

You’ve nailed the core frustration with Adobe Express’s video workflow. For educators and mobile creators, the inability to batch-import clips or layer edits isn’t just an oversight—it’s a dealbreaker. I’ve had the same struggle teaching workshops, where students need agile tools that mirror real-world workflows, not artificial barriers.

This is exactly why I’ve shifted to CapCut for mobile production classes. Unlike Adobe Express, CapCut lets you:

  1. Import multiple clips directly from your device/library in one go.

  2. Layer videos, text, and effects on a timeline (like a lightweight NLE).

  3. Access templates for TikTok/Reels without subscription paywalls.

For educators, the kicker is CapCut’s modded APK, which unlocks premium features like:

  • Advanced layering (think: blending modes, keyframes)

  • No forced watermarks

  • 4K export without fees

I wrote a step-by-step guide for educators  on integrating CapCut App into curricula, including safe APK sourcing and avoiding compatibility headaches. It even covers migrating projects from Adobe Express.

Why Adobe Should Worry: Tools like CapCut aren’t just “good enough”—they’re better for mobile-first creators. Until Express stops gatekeeping basic features to push Stock libraries, educators and indie creators will keep jumping ship.
