Update Assets error in Adobe Express Templates

Anyone experiencing issues with a popup error stating you need to update assets within Adobe Express templates? I'm using the paid version, in a web browser. It's confusing because this is a pre-made template. Why would the provided assets within the template need to be updated? I'm having trouble understanding why a template offered would use assets that aren't available. I didn't add the asset. It was already in the template. All I did was add text and animation. But then I go to download the design, and it tells me I need to update assets.

One quick correction to what @mahmoud_5524 said here: Click the “Update Assets” button when prompted — this usually replaces missing items with available ones.

 

Clicking that button won't actually replace the problematic asset. It will only select it for you, so it's easy to identify what to replace/delete.

      This “Update Assets” error typically appears when certain elements in a pre-made template—like images, videos, or fonts—are no longer available or have restricted access due to licensing or changes in availability.

      Even if you didn’t add the asset yourself, it's possible the asset used in the original template has since been removed or updated on Adobe Stock or within Express.

      Here’s what you can try:

      • Click the “Update Assets” button when prompted — this usually replaces missing items with available ones.

      • Alternatively, try replacing the flagged asset manually with a different one from the Adobe Stock library.

      • Refresh the browser or duplicate the project and try exporting again.
