No Settings options in Adobe Firefly Generative Fill

Community Beginner ,
Apr 24, 2024 Apr 24, 2024

I've recently started using Generative Fill in Adobe Firefly but only just realised there's no settings button. I watched one of their videos walking through how to make art from an uploaded photo and you need to click on the settings to adjust 'preserve content' but obviously I can't do that as it doesn't exist. Any ideas why it's not appearing? I'm on Mac OS Sonoma 14.4.1

Any help would be much appreciated and by the way I'm not techy at all so tips on how to resolve this in simple lingo would be extremely useful! 😉 TIA

We launched a new version of Generative Fill this week that no longer supports this workflow that the video demonstrates. We are working on getting this video updated to match the new version.

In the mean time, if you're interested in learning how to use Generative Fill, please refer to these articles:

Hi all!

The setting options have been removed because they are incompatible with the new model. The learn team will update the video.

Thanks,

KR

Are you using: https://firefly.adobe.com/upload/inpaint to upload your image and use Gen Fill? Can you tell us which video did you see "Settings" in?

Yep, I am uploading it in Inpaint and I just double checked to be sure. This is the link with the video.https://creativecloud.adobe.com/cc/learn/firefly/web/preserve-content-generative-fill?locale=en

Could you help fix this as I've only just paid for membership and I'm quite frustrated this error has stopped me in my tracks and I can't go ahead with my project. Any ideas, tips, or tricks would be much appreciated.

@anubhav_r , the original poster is referring to this control that used to exist in Generative Fill:

The video was only from January 2024 and is live and available on the cloud so if it's been shelved the video should be taken down pdq. If someone from Adobe can confirm what's going on it'd be much appreciated as I only joined so I could use this feature. I have experimented with other similar tools on Adobe but this one looked like it would've done exactly what I needed and more in keeping with the original photo.

@Leanne28411851wz1p: I do not work for Adobe, but I am sorry to tell you this feature is no longer available in Generative Fill.

I know, I appreciate your commenting but I was just saying it should be removed as it's still there for people to view and so gives the impression it's still a feature but I'd like someone from Adobe to confirm this and if there's an alternative. From what I can see there isn't anything that does the same as 'preserve content.' I was aiming the message more at Adobe as I thought it was still working.

Working with the teams to update the tutorial and share workarounds, if possible.

When will this be updated? It's been two months now. So is there no way to change an image to a particular art style anymore? That seems like a major step backward.

I find it absurd and out of any logic to eliminate features that made the tool more powerful and versatile. Now I no longer have any reason to use it because in fact it can no longer do the job he was able to do before, and that I needed. For me it has become unusable.

I wonder what the real reason for this huge step backwards is.
