I don't recall Algerian being available thru Adobe Fonts. The typeface was sold by ITC for a long time and then ITC was acquired by Monotype. Algerian is bundled with certain applications, such as Microsoft Office and CorelDRAW. Do you have any of those applications?

In the past few years I've seen some strange glitches with fonts disappearing in the menu. How did Algerian get restored on your machine? Did you reboot it? Sometimes I'll see conflicts happen when certain applications are running at the same time. For instance if I happen to have CorelDRAW (and its built-in font manager) open in the background while I'm using Adobe Illustrator I'll see certain styles within some type families disappear in the fonts menu. If I shut down both applications and re-launch Illustrator all of the missing fonts styles get restored.

If the Algerian font has vanished from your system or an online platform, here are a few places to check:

  1. Microsoft Fonts Directory: If you’re using Windows, you can find the Algerian font in the Fonts directory. Go to Control Panel  Appearance and Personalization  Fonts to see if it's listed there.

  2. Font Websites: You can download the Algerian font from font websites like DaFont or FontSpace. or bloxstrap font Search for "Algerian" and download the font file.

    1. Reinstall from System Media: If it came with your operating system, you might be able to reinstall it from your OS installation media or system restore options.

    2. Google Fonts or Adobe Fonts: While Algerian is not typically available on Google Fonts or Adobe Fonts, checking these sources can sometimes help find similar alternatives.

If you need a replacement or similar style, you might also explore fonts like “Broadway” or “Garamond” for similar aesthetics.

Algerian is not included in Windows OS system font packages. As I said in my response a few weeks ago, Algerian is bundled with Microsoft Office (as well as certain other graphics applications).

Copies of Algerian may be available at various "free" fonts web sites. Obviously there are risks associated with visiting those web sites and/or using fonts downloaded from them.
