We were just given a Notorized document from 2010.  Upon examination of the document we found there were different apostrohes and fonts used in areas we feel it had be altered from the original 2010 ducument.  We scanned it through Acobat Adobe Pro and found it has four different fonts used throughout the document:  Mnion Pro, Times New Roman, Cambria, and Calibri.  I was under the impression that Support of Open Type Features such as Minion Pro was introduced in Word 2012.  Any ideas as to how this font is showing up on a so called 2010 original?

Hi @darlam17748234 Can you further explain what you mean by this: "We scanned it through Acobat [sic] Adobe Pro...". Do you mean to say that you had a paper document and used a scanner to save the document as a PDF? Then you opened that PDF and found the fonts used in Properties or through Preflight?

There never was a Word 2012.

  • Mac versions were 2008, 2011, 2016
  • Windows versions were 2010, 2013, 2016

We were just given a Notorized document from 2010.

What format is the Notorized document in? Paper? Stamped by a notary?

What is it you are trying to ascertain? This sounds like you are trying to investigate potential fraud and we are ask not to help with legal issues in these forums.

"I was under the impression that Support of Open Type Features such as Minion Pro was introduced in Word 2012."

Minion Pro is an OpenType font. OpenType fonts were made available in 2000. OpenType fonts do have special features (like alternative characters) but that is nothing to do with just typing with the font in Word.

So... this has no forensic value.
