Using fonts like Bookman JF for a novice

I like the font Bookman JF I would like to use it in documents and to use the stylized glyphs for the old school feel, but I do not see this font in most apps like word and google docs.  What is the way that a novice such as myself can be able to utilize this font easily and utilize the cool ghyphs as well.

I'll usually open the Glyphs panel and scroll down to the special characters I want to use and click them into a selected text string. Bookmania has a huge number of glyphs, more than 3000 per font file IIRC.
