I'm on a trip right now and wanted to use the time to work. Well, turns out I can't because adobe fonts are not working offline. Why?

Hi jr-komoot,

Sorry for the delay in response. If you launch the Creative Cloud desktop app while offline, fonts won't display in the font lists of your apps. However, if you go offline while the Creative Cloud desktop app runs, activated fonts will still be listed and available.

Thank you for submitting the feedback to our fonts uservoice, which will help our team look into your request.

Thanks,

Harshika

Does this mean that if we don't have internet access that it's impossible to work on files that use "activated" fonts?

For example, if I have an InDesign file that uses Futura PT which is activated in Adobe Fonts and I turn my computer on to work on it but don't have any internet access, in reality this means I won't be able to work on that file because the font won't be accessible so it will substitute a default font.

Is there no way that fonts can be activated then still be used offline at a later time?

Yes, that's exactly what happened to me. (if you loose connection while your computer is turned on, fonts will stay activated though)
