Adobe Media Encoder v 22.1.1 is now available for download from the Creative Cloud Desktop app. This update includes hardware acceleration support & multiple bug fixes.
To update the app, open the Creative Cloud desktop application and click the Updates tab on the top left. Find Media Encoder in the list and click Update.
New features
ProRes hardware acceleration on Apple M1 Pro/Max
Hardware-accelerated ProRes is now up to 5x faster on new Apple silicon Macs. Exports for 4K and 8K ProRes are much improved on new MacBook Pros with Apple M1 Pro and Apple M1 Max chips.
Hardware acceleration for hi-res HEVC on all Apple M1 systems
Media Encoder exports for high-resolution HEVC are faster with macOS 12 on M1 Macs. Hardware encoding is now enabled for DCI 4K and 8K HEVC exports, resulting in significantly faster performance.

The app is constantly getting slower (old and knwon issue).
Queued rendering processes are slowing dropping in speed from 5 minutes to sth. between 1 and 4 hours.
Restarting the system every 12 hours seems to be the only working solution.
Maybe the garbage collector needs some tweaking?

Media Encoder 22.1.1 still hangs several minutes before starting to encode videos. I can deal with that as when it starts it will move relatively fast. The one issue I am having involves encoding HD video. We stream a program every week. I take the captured streamed video that is in MKV (OBS) and remuxed to MP4. Next I import it into Premiere Pro 2022 (22.1.2 -Build 1). I then create three different MP4 videos and one MP3 audio for our different upload sites. Since I do this every week I have three timelines setup as templates. All files are from 40 to 60 minutes long.
Three of the four output perfectly. One of the MP4's will not finish. Media encoder will just stop encoding after about 5 minutes or so - it is not consistant as to when this happens. The other two videos and the MP3 complete just fine. The one that will not compete in Media Encoder I can export directly from Premiere Pro. It completes fast and perfectly.
I have tried recreating the template. This particular video has about a dozen "essential graphics" which the others do not. I have tried going back a version of Media Encoder but that did nothing. I have rendered the video before sending it to Media Encoder. I can obviously work around the issue but really would like to figure out what is going on as it makes work life easier if I can stack projects and just walk away and let them encode. This use to be what I did and it worked well but since this last update not anymore. Any ideas?

Does this one actually work? Because currently I can't send anything from AE to ME, and when importing into ME separately, it competely screws up output and keeps resizing videos. What exactly are we paying for, again?

I can't create Proxy files from PrPro anymore. I get prompted to Login into Creative Cloud and purchase a plan, which I already have. Had Adobe support on Chat two days ago and they had me sign out and sign back in after a few minutes on hold. It still did not work. The persons shift ended and they disconnected.

HI EVERYONE.
SO HERE IS THE FIX I FIGURED OUT ON MY OWN:
GO CREATIVE CLOUD AND UNINSTALL MEDIA ENCODER. REINSTALL IT.
THEN GO TO THE USER ON YOUR COMPUTER AND GO TO DOCUMENTS FOLDER, GO TO ADOBE FOLDER, GO TO ADOBE MEDIA ENCODER, MOVE THE 22.0 OR WHATEVER NUMBER YOU GOT TO THE DESKTOP.
RELAUNCH YOUR AFTER EFFECTS AND with your PROJECT OPEN
GO TO COMPOSITION MENU
GO DOWN TO ADD TO MEDIA ENCODER QUEUE
ONCE ME OPENS, WAIT A FEW SECONDS AND YOUR PROJECT SHOULD LOAD THERE.
HOPE THIS HELPS
once again i have to fix adobe problem for adobe.

Every Adobe developer, project & product manager that works on both of these programs needs a slap to the throat for once again forcing its customer base to constantly find workarounds because they can't be bothered to actually complete functional software.

The ones that I've met are great and hard working people.
I think they just need another Quality Assurance tester or some kind of additional step in the installation that makes sure the pipeline is still functioning properly.
We still have access to some older versions that were working pretty solid at least.

ME v22.1.1 appears to be not compaitble with the AEP file from the newest version of After Effects for me as well.
I can still convert an already rendered video, it hangs longer than the previous version though.
Reinstalls and deleting all presets didn't work either. I guess I'll go back a version or 2?
on the plus side After Effects has been running smooth at least.

The Anubis plugin from BattleAxe has solved h.264 renders for me in the meantime.
