Alpha channel output not rendering transparent background

Hi,

We have just recently updated to Media Encoder 2019, while trying to generate an alpha channel output, the resulting file does not have a transparent background.

We are generating the output for an after effects composition.

Details:

Video format: quicktime (.mov)

Codec: Animation

8pc + alpha option selected.

We have tried exporting outs by both selecting and not selecting the "render with maximum depth" option. Both produce only black backgrounds and not transparent backgrounds.

Hi,

Apologies, the encoder works fine with the above mentioned settings. I had a black solid layer which was the cause for not getting the transparent output.

P.S - Output was generated without selecting the render at maximum depth option

Cheers!!

Ok. That great you could find answer yourselve. With so straight forward codecs as animation in QT - there is not to much to go wrong so in most cases there have to be issue somewhere else - as black BG in your case.
