Hello
I see that this is a common problem and no one gets to any conclusions...
In short: Latest AE, latest AME, windows 10
Simple composition created in AE -> Add to AME queue. -> AME opens and hangs while displaying Reading XMP
Is there a solution for this?
Many Thanks

Hi, my solution on Mac.
Don't use "dynamic link".
Just drag your project in Media Encoder,
then choose correct timeline to render.
Worked.

Or : update Prem Pro and Media Ecoder to 14.9 ... (on MAC)

This should be the accepted solution. Deleting layer markers or disabling XML did nothing. Thanks defaultps5hrwyl2k2d

Hi!
Had this when rendering a Comp with a mp4 file (was encoded on a mac and I'm on Win10).
I just had to remove the xmp-Data from my mp4-file by right clicking it on the file in Windows Explorer - Properties - Details - Remove Properties and Personal Information - Remove the following properties from this file: - [Scroll down] - Select All - OK

I have the same problem! MediaIncoder cannot find XMP. I work on Mac OS. This problem has already got me!

Same issue now. No time markers in project(learned my lesson on the timemark instability last year) it takes almost 15 min to get to project setting just to change a simple setting

Yes same issue. I'm not using any mp4's in the comp, just jpgs and text and it takes forever (~10 min) to read the XMP and start the render of a 15 second video. I even turned off all the meta data . Rendering the file in AE as an mov it knocks it out in under 1 minute. Really hope Adobe can weigh in here.

Hi db777,
Sorry. Is Import Sequences Natively enabled? Have you disabled Preferences > Metadata? Try those options and let us know what happens.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin. Thanks for the suggestions but I did try that and just did it once to be sure and it has no effect.
I posted a full write up of what I tried and the results here if that helps

With new versions of Premiere the problem is back. I never knew what a crazy process one has to go through before exporting a single sequence...
