Hello, I recently updated the new version v25 of media encoder and videos that usually export in a few minutes are now taking hours. I am exporting from After effects and have used the same process / settings as previous versions, so dont undertand what is going wrong. Any help would be much appreciated to resolve this. I have attached a screenshot of a current export. Thank you.
Yep. Loading the project in AME 25 Beta now and not having the issue anymore, however I cannot send the sequences directly from PP until the update makes it to release

Hi, I also noticed that my export via AME takes forever and also produced some issues in the final video file. Besides Lumetri I was applying the Transform effect to do some basic vertical reframing and it resulted in a broken video where the right half of the video was just missing/black. Exporting directly via Premiere of the very same timeline is approx. 20x faster and has no issues with Adjustment layers.

Would you be able to share the project and media? I would like to look into it more. I can send you a private message in this forum with the instructions.

For the past few months, I've also been experiencing extremely slow exporting times with Media Encoder (compared to exporting with Premiere Pro itself). I've had to go back to exporting with Premiere Pro.
With the current version of Media Encoder (25.1), exporting a 2 hour 4k60 video (using TMPG Enc @ CBR 200) is still *way* too slow. Even after 7 minutes, the progress bar doesn't show any blue yet, and the preview indicates that we're still in the first few seconds of the (2 hour long) video. "Remaining" doesn't even have a time estimate; it just says "__:__:__".
If I then export with Premiere Pro instead, then within about 10 seconds, I can see a time estimate of 3hr 42min, which later changes to 5+hr, which is pretty normal (on this PC) for a 2 hr 4k60 video; this is the speed which Media Encoder *used* to do, until a few months ago. Within about 1 minute, I see the blue progress bar starting to progress, and a couple minutes later, I see "1%". I can't see a progress window, but I presume it's much farther along than Media Encoder was by this point.
So, it looks like Media Encoder 25.1 does not fix the problem, at least for me. It's still significantly slower than exporting in Premiere Pro.
Has anyone been able to find out how to get Media Encoder to export at the same speed as (or even faster than) Premiere Pro, like it used to? Or does it still remain horribly slow since whatever changed for it in mid/late 2024?

It appears to be linked to Adjustment Layers and Lumetri Colour, the "solution" and I put that inverted for a reason, seems to be export without adjustment layers...

I use Lumetric Colour on adjustment layers in *all* my projects. Media Encoder handled them fine up until mid-2024 when some update made everything run really slow.
I wish Adobe would fix it soon.... because avoiding Lumetric Colour and/or adjustment layers is not a "solution". It's like a car manufacturer telling people that their cars won't explode, as long as they don't make any left turns.

You are absolutely right... Now it will be soon 1 year that thousands of people are reporting the problem, Adobe is still closing eyes...
Avoiding to use adjustement layers is not a solution, rendering from premiere is not a solution, these are only temporary alternatives, we pay frickin' expensive subscription for softwares more and more bugged at each updates... I'm very tired about this situation, since 2024 i never been able to use adobe programs (premiere, AE, AME) normally...
So maybe the real solution to fix the problem is to cancel my subscription and start using da vinci resolve, as adobe doesn't care about their customers...

I just wanted to chime in here. I'm having the same problem. Has anyone reverted back to 2024 and had better results?
I have not tried because I work with Productions and it converted everyting to 2025. I still have the original directory with 2025 productions projucts but we will loose the last 3 months because we cant convert backward?
Another thing I noticed is we are having this problem with Media Encoder. If we render in Pr it seems to be faster?
Anyone else rendering faster in Pr?

I haven't as my projects are in 25 (pretty sure they won't open in 24). Can you not have both 24 and 25 installed when using Productions? I am not familar with it

Yes you can. But DynamicLink requires matching versions for PPro & AME or After Effects & AME.

You dont need to downgrades all your programs, just downgrade AME, for me it worked fine.

Google AI also thought that I would be able to send the sequence from PP 25 to AME 24(it said that PP would send to whatever version of AME was open), but I uninstalled AME 25 and reinstalled AME 24, and now PP 25 says AME is not installed and I cannot send for render.
Is there another way to get the sequence into AME?

Just open the .pproj from AME directly, do not use export from premiere pro.

So I found a fix for the slow rendering. I installed 25.2(build 74) BETA of the media encoder. I ran a quick test and it is fixed!!
I have no idea when they are going to apply the fix to the general public.

Awesome! That worked!
I still can't send to AME from the PP Export screen but I am able to open the PP project and render out the sequence at an appropriate speed. Hopefully this gets put into the main release ASAP.
Thx!

This may be a fix for Mac but Windows is still broken and the beta made it worse.

Hi Ecki,
Perhaps, if you could let the community know if it will either be days or weeks, that distinction would be great for us to know.
-Thanks

I currently have Media Encoder 25.3.
Which version will contain the speed improvements? And what is the estimated related date for it?
Thanks!
