Could you try the followings and see if any of them helps?

- Delete cache.  Delete everything under the "Common" folder

Mac: /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common

Windows: \Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common

- Use "Software Only" render mode in AME.

- Switch "Import sequences natively" option (AME Preferences > General)

First of all, which version of Character Animator and AME are you using?

According the error text you attached, it seems you lost the access to the source file in G drive.   Was the source file on an external drive or a network drive?  If you copy the source file to the system drive (C drive), do you still see this issue?

Also having encoding fail issues, or just flat out freezing in the middle of an encoding. The program can still be interacted with, paused or stopped, but the media being encoded freezes as far as both elapsed time and time remaining.

Mine was an export from Premiere v 13, which if you gander over to their forum is having a plethora of problems all its own.

Different beasts, that are having a similar problem interacting with the Media Encoder. I was just letting you know this kind of issue wasn't animation specific.

Though, uninstalled and reinstalled the Media Encoder 13 and am currently attempting another export of my problem project now. It's going smoothly and registering less time overall than previous attempts. I'll let you know if that worked on my end in about an hour.

Yeah, it was moving more smoothly and faster, but 35minutes and twenty seconds into the time elapsed (instead of just over an hour) it froze up the same way again.

Never mind, I found a FAQ. A little over an hour into a new export attempt. Under an hour left. Going smoothly and far faster than previous export attempts using software only mode, like 2 hours and 50 minutes instead of 20 Hours.

I'll keep the thread posted.

...it finished. It exported. S'all good on my end. Clearing the cache and doing a software only run is a good place to start for the Original poster of this thread. Doing a second round test of the file with the GPU acceleration as well just to see.
