Hiya,

Currently having problems dropping a movie file into the encoder window.

Had this on a few macs now.

Usually re-install it and put works .. Not today ..

I have upgraded my ADOBE suite since the last nightmare ..

Has anyone else had this issue?

IMAC 2017 Fully Loaded.

MAC OS High Sierra - 10.13.6

Media Encoder Version 12.2.12

2.5K

Hi andy1210 me.com,

Sorry for the trouble with import. What exactly happens if you try to import a file into Media Encoder? Is there an error message?

Is this happening with all file formats? What is the location of the media? Please check with different file from different location.

Thanks,

Vidya

Hi Vidya,

Ok my workflow is drag & drop, I have uncompressed source files and I just drag them into the Media Encoder window, select setting and export .. easy .. always works ..

The problem is now -

When I drag a file into / over the window, a small icon 'x' displays on the mouse over ... Says the file can't be imported.

I am using native source movs ... my workflow hasn't changed.

So currently I have to work around by taking source movs into premier to then render to my AME Presets.

Any help appreciated

Hi andy1210 me.com,

It seems like a strange issue. What is the dot version of Premiere Pro? FAQ: How to find the exact version of Premiere Pro you're using?

Have you tried resetting Media Encoder Preferences? Media Encoder | Reset preferences

Thanks,

Vidya

Same exact issue. Cannot import ANY files into Media Encoder, starting last friday. It worked normally, and then just stopped. Cannot deag & drop, cannot import via "+" button. No files are elligible. I also tried updating all Adobe products, just in case, and no change.

Please advise asap, my work is effectively frozen until this is resolved.

macOS (Monterey)
AME version 22.1.1 (Build 25)

The amount of workflow breaking bugs that happened to Adobe in the last month is simply unbelievable.

Why is this issue marked as solved? I don't see any comment resolving the issue, and it's a rather critical issue, to begin with.

Happend to my,  just upgraded to the newest version.
Trying to export media from Premier. And nothing happens.
I have to force quit the encoder, then export again. Then it works.
But only works for one file at a time. If I have to do  muliple exports i have to repeat this process
Media encoder worked perfectly before the update

This is not solved. I cannot add any movie file from my finder to the current version of Media Encoder, I get the same stupid icon with the hand and crossed out circle. I even updated it this morning to see if it would work again and no. Media Encoder Beta works just fine. WHY IS THAT???? M1 Macbook Pro 16 maxed out.

Ok, if anyone else might stumble upon this thread and wonder why it hasn't been solved, here's my two cents. Pretty simple fix on my part. I couldn't add any files via drag and drop because for some reason, I closed Media Encoders Queue window, so if that's the reason drag and drop's not working for you just go to Window -> Queue and there you go. Hope this helps
