Slow render times m3 max?

Hi all. Just got the new macbook and been loving the speed. Was rendering out deliverables like it was nothing when suddenly... that stopped? Render times increaased exponentially for just about no reason? I've restarted the computer and installed an update, moved clips into new sequences but issue persists. Occuring in both AME and natively in Premiere Pro.

For reference, editing non-transcoded RED 6k footage alongside non-transcoded Canon r5 4k footage. Cutting 60s spots. Exporting 1920x1080 H.264.

First few renders were done in around 10 seconds. Now more typically  1:1 ratio, taking anywhere from 45s to 2mins for each export.

I understand that I should be super stoked that I'm working with 6k and 4k footage and its only taking a couple minutes for each export. But I have to make like 50 of these so every second counts, trying to get to the bottom of why it was initially so fast and then randomly dwindled.

Sorry for your issues. Can you monitor the memory usage? Can you restart between encodes to clean up the memory? I am trying to find the root cause. I will file a bug if I have a repro case with media.

Somewhat of an update, perhaps more of a Premiere Pro issue than an AME issue? Details below:

- was able to isolate issue to certain sequences I'm editing.

- The sequences that take longer aren't inherently that different - one is 60s the other is 64s total length. Both consist of intercut RED + Canon footage with LUTs applied through Lumetri.

- 60s sequence takes about 14s to export and on average used about 65-75% GPU.

- The other sequence takes about 40s to export and crept up to 94% GPU usage and stayed there until complete.

- Project settings and export settings are identical

- Same amount of effects applied on each sequence

Can you confirm that the direct export is also slower? Then I would move this thread over to Premiere Pro Bugs.

its not much, but direct export from premiere pro is slightly faster, GPU usage lingering more around 80-85%. Difference of 30s vs 45s on a 1min video, and 1.5 mins vs. 2 mins for a 2min video.

Did you compare render times against your old machine? I am curious what "slow" means.

For sure - these are all fast times when compared to my old machine. What I meant by slow is that comparatively, I was seeing 20s exports for 1 min videos initially and now that export time has crept up to about 1 min. I'm just curious if there's any reason for this when timeline settings havent changed - perhaps a cache or something else that might be clogging it up.

Would you be able to take the times for both versions you were looking at and try to export direct & via AME? I am very much interested in those four numbers. They might be worth a performance ticket.
