The audio quality produced in v2 is worse.

I feel that the change from v1 to v2 has resulted in a decrease in the audio quality I produce. Is there a way to downgrade the version from https://podcast.adobe.com/enhance?

Hi Everyone! A quick update: for folks on the Free plan you now have the ability to select between using v1 and v2 (see the screenshot below).

V2 of Adobe Podcast Enhance is just horrendous, V1 was surely not perfect but it was incredible to use and I really put the Adobe company in high regards because of this AI tool, V1 allowed me to make my voice-over audio clear and crisp with the inclusion of Adobe Audition, I depended on it to be able to do my work as a voice actor but now it is basically useless, this version has ultimately affected my work and clients have noticed how robotic V2 sounds, the noise leveling is pathetic now, V2 causes my voice to be muffled at the beginning and at the end of my voice recording which is inconsistent, I do not understand why Adobe keeps breaking things which were not even broken in the first place, you do not need to keep updating the AI tools because this what it leads to, bring back V1 or sadly people will start using Adobe Podcast less. Honestly, if you want a good alternative just use Auphonic, it is a bit pricy but it will definitely get the job done, it is 40x better than V1 and V2 of Adobe Podcast combined.

how come you say the V2 sounds more robotic than the V1? In my opinion, V1 is how you are describing V2, + 100x worse. V2 is expentionally better, while also being not the best, but I truly dont understand how you think V1 is better

I just don't get why companies do this. My youtube channel was dependent on Adobe Podcast but now, i have to choose between paying adobe or finding other methods to enhance my audio, and i can assure you i'm not paying adobe a cent anymore. Thanks a bunch adobe, you really do care about your users.

Thank you all for your thoughtful and candid feedback on Enhance Speech v2! We truly appreciate it and hear you loud and clear. Based on the feedback we’ve received, we’re working to allow free users to be able to select between using v1 and v2, which should be available early in the new year. Stay tuned for more updates!

This is certainly good news for users without an account; however, I wonder if Adobe will revise the V2 version based on the criticism or will it remain as it is? It would be appreciated if you could comment on this.

Hi @jens36322487 , yes thank you for following up on this! We've been hearing that the difference between 0-1% with the slider has caused a lot of confusion, in addition to wanting more control over the mixing with the slider. We're actively working on improving the slider experience with v2 and you should expect to see those improvements in Q1 2025.

What's honeslty happening to me is that now adobe podcast V2 creates really really weird noises in the silences that are located between words or sentences. Like I'm editing a podcast right now and I find myself spending A LOT OF TIME cleaning these weird noises. And also voices sound compressed and some words are completely distorted in the process.

I have uploaded many different clips and they have all been way worse in v2 than in v1. In v2 I have even taken the same clip that I enhanced in v1 and it has been better in some portions, however, there are certain sections that sound completely different than the rest of the clip; too much bass, too much hissing, and it would not be that noticable if the whole clip was like that, but because it randomly switches in different sections it makes the audio unusable because it's distracting for the viewer/listener. Needless to say, I will not be using this feature anymore unless they fix it or have an opttion to switch back to v1.

Couldn't agree more. Sibilant sounds just get lost now to the extent that I've had to stop using it. Fix it or bring back V1!

No, V2 Is Better, Cuz V2 Has Better voice quality of all time, V1 Sounds Too Unrealistic, and very Low Quality!

Great if V2 works so well for you. I and the others in this thread see it differently. For me, V2 is a clear step backwards; see the posts above for the reasons. It has been discussed in detail. And this is confirmed for me again and again; since my last post I have tried V2 as well as V1, but the results of V2 have always been completely unusable. And yes, V1 is not a miracle tool either and I only use it in the minimum strength range, maximum 20, but it often produces good effects that make a small difference.

I'm on the verge of giving up my subscription - this is much worse than Studio Sound and Auphonic. My specific issue is with sibilant sounds, which it tends to remove, rendering the audio almost unusable (and it's a relatively a new problem).

Hi @D_Wi3825, I'm sorry to hear you've been experiencing poor results with v2. If you're willing to share any audio files where it's removing the sibilant sounds, that would be helpful (and if you can reference any time stamps where it becomes problematic, even better!) My email is hjiroudek@adobe.com

When I first tested this on release, I was blown away, using some on-camera recorded audio of a speech at an event that wasn't even meant to be used, to being able to actually use that audio in a final client video. Now the Enhance audio in Premiere is absolutely unusable. I've attempted enhancement on every quality of speech audio recording: on-camera mic, lav mic, shotgun mic, SM7B in a vocal booth, close up, far away, iPhone, and in every scenario, even enhancement at its lowest setting produces warbles, gargles, shakiness, artificial noises, unpleasant ducking. I have listened through studio monitors, airpod pro's, flat eq wired headphones, this isn't the issue. This enhacement tool wasn't just worstened, it is unusable. Not enough for me to stop using Premiere, but I edit through 20+ hours of raw footage a week, and it would be very nice to have an enhancment tool that could actually salvage bad audio, or even better take well recorded audio and make it sound incredible, when there is absolutely the raw data there to do so, and so much usuable AI speech enhacment software available on the market. I pay a lot for Adobe software subscription; I hope to see this feature reworked and built into Premiere. I understand you can use V1 online, but I have far too much footage to process weekly for exporting/enhacing/reimporting/syncing audio to be a practical workflow.
