How to recover file?? - Adobe Scan

Here's the situation: I was being (overly) confident about my upload and decided to take photos and compile on the app directly. I was struggling with the internet connection even though I had data, but I would occasionally switch connections.

What happened was, two files were somehow uploaded and I decided to delete both because in the recent (like the one you're working on, the one that shows on the very top of the screen) my progress was still there.

Or so I thought- it was stuck on "waiting to upload..." and I thought it would get over that but it didn't. I can't modify it, I can't share it, I just really can't do anything about it. It was a very important file to me and I have no extra copies of that... I'm hoping this problem can be dealt with properly. I'm using a Nova 3i and it was my first time risking taking the photos on the app itself without having other backups.

Thank you for reading about my issue and I really hope I can recover that file... have a nice day, people. 😞

Hi Bbq,

Sorry for the delay in response.

As you have mentioned above, you have deleted the files from the recent tab. If yes, then it is not possible to recover those files.

If the file is showing as "waiting to upload", please check once online on Document Cloud if the files already uploaded or not.

Open this link https://documentcloud.adobe.com/ and sign in using the same credentials that you use for Adobe Scan application. Theen go to Files > Adobe Scan folder. Check if the file appear in the list.

If you still experiencing an issue in saving files, sign out of the application and uninstall it.

Then reboot the device and re-install the application from the Google Play Store.

Let us know if you have any question or need any help.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Documents should save automatically and because I didn't understand how the app worked, I lost some very, very important documents that I won't be able to get back.

Hi @BarvaWorks ,

Thank you for posting your query here. Could you help me with few details to understand your issue better?

  1. Have you deleted it from your device or from the application?
  2. Application version?

Make sure you sign in with the same email address which you used earlier to save scans. Try all the possible Adobe accounts you have.

Adobe Scan saves the documents as PDF in the Adobe Document Cloud. You may check your saved files over here, Open the link Adobe Document Cloud

  • If you are not uploading the files to Adobe Document Cloud or saving it to any other location, then the files will be deleted permanently.

It is not possible to retrieve the files once deleted directly from the application.

I would suggest you always save a copy of the file to some other location or you can upload the files to Document Cloud.

If the files were saved within the application, they are by default uploaded to Document Cloud.

  1. Open Document Cloud and sign in with your Adobe ID and the password.
  2. Then go to Files > Document Cloud > Adobe Scan folder.
  3. Here you will see the Adobe Scan folder. Please look for your files here.

Otherwise, there's not much we can do to recover those files for you.

Let me know how it works at your end. If you have any further queries please feel free to reach.

Regards

Ria

Hi @Balakrishna37723611w6nq,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with Adobe Scan.

Would you mind sharing a few pieces of information for further investigation:

1. Have you checked the different accounts you might have used with Scan (Sign in with Adobe versus social sign-in)?
2. Which platform do you experience the issue with? Scan Android, Scan iOS, and Acrobat online. Please login to Acrobat Online (https://adobe.ly/3Kln0Gv) using the same login credentials as in the app and confirm whether your files are visible in Acrobat online under the Documents section in the Adobe Scan folder.
3. Are all the scanned files missing, or only some files?
4. When did the issue start? Any details about any actions taken then?
5. Scan app build version, device model, and OS version.

Look forward to hearing from you.
