OCR on scans up to 600 pages

New Here ,
Oct 24, 2022 Oct 24, 2022

Hello everyone,

I have pdf files (obtained from pages of books scanned with Adobe Scan) of more than 600 pages. The normal subscription with Adobe Scan, allows me to perform text recognition (OCR) on scans of up to 100 pages. How can I perform text recognition (OCR) on scans up to 600 pages?

Hi there

Hope you’re doing well.

In Adobe Scan, you can scan and save more than 25 pages as a PDF. However, text recognition (OCR) is limited to a maximum of 25 pages unless you have an Adobe Scan Premium subscription, which extends the OCR limit to 100 pages per file.

If you're working with a large document, a good approach is to scan it in sets of 25 pages and then use Adobe Acrobat to combine them into a single PDF.

Hello @Silvia267584412iii

I hope you're doing great.

This is a feature limitation. You can run OCR for scans up to 100 pages only.

However, you can raise a feature request here -  Feature Request/Bug Report Form.

I hope it helps.

Regards,

Krutikka

I have acquired a license only to run OCR on scans and the limitation of 100 pages destroys my use case. Is there really no option to increase this?

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

We appreciate your feedback and will share it with our engineering team internally for review and future consideration.

The option to scan more than 600 pages is not yet available. However, you may Run the OCR on a smaller set of PDF files  or 100 pages (With Scan Premium plan) and later combine the sets into one single file as suggested in the previous response.
