Export an Artboard As a Single Image

Community Beginner ,
Aug 19, 2021 Aug 19, 2021

I'm only using XD to view a sketch file that I'm told was created in InDesign. I would like to export an artboard as a single image. When I select the artboard, choses export selection, and chose web, I get a bunch of individuals files for the artboard components. The image is just for documentation purposes. I can just do a screen capture if need be. I'm just checking if there is a better way.

I got it to work although it may not be the right way to do so. I selected the artboard and made it into a component and did the export. I got a sing image. I then undid making it a compnent just in case

Select the artboard you want to export, then File > Export > Selected. That should export the entire artboard for you.

@Chris W. Griffith , as mentioned, that what I did. I've done it with other sketch files and just got a single image. Could it be in the the the object is selected? I clicked outside of it and the shift clicked to select the whole object.

As Chris said, or just do Cmd + E

But something strange in your workflow. Why not export from InDesign direct...?  Why InDesign in the first place? 😆

@Kenneth Kawamoto, good questions. I'm just the developer told to make it happen ;). The file was created by a design firm, passed on to a project manager, who passed it on to me. I only have XD as my subsciption plan doesn't cover InDesign.
