Hi, I am viewing my desings on iPhone 13 through a cable connected to my MacBook. Using the XD app on the phone. One would think the XD on the MacBook only needs to send the screens to the phone, but suddenly all the fonts are missing? Why? It works perfectly on the mac.

Hi @Erik Vos - Het Lab ,
Could you please let us know the below points:
1. What is your OS version of Desktop and Mobile (iPhone 13)
2. What is the version of XD on desktop and XD mobile
3. Could you please share the screenshot with us and which all fonts you have used on desktop
We will look into it and get back to you.

Thanks & regards,
Chaitanya Shandilya

Hi Chaitanya,

1. On my macbook I use MacOS 14.1.2 (23B92), on the iPhone 13 Pro is use iOS 17.3

2. XD desktop 57.1.12.2 arm64, on the iPhone 50.2 (4727)

3. I can't send you a complete screenshot of alle the fonts: the list is too long (153 fonts) but the 'Overpass' font which I use on desktop is not on the fontlist in the app.

Thanks for your reply!

Hi @Erik Vos - Het Lab,  I'm hoping this to be helpful, since I've never tried if it doesn't work, let's see maybe some other expert/designer might have a useful input: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/iphone/iphb2517689c/ios

I think you need to use a third party app, eg:
https://thedashplanner.com/tutorials/how-to-add-fonts-to-ipad-or-iphone
I've never done this myself - I'd back up iPhone first just in case!

With iPadOS, you can now install any TrueType (.ttf) or OpenType (.otf) font file on your iPad or iPhone. You can then use this font in most apps like GoodNotes, Procreate, Pages, Keynote, and more. www.thedashplanner.com

Thanks guys, but I don't want another app manage my fonts on my Phone. One would say that if I want to view a design I made in Adobe XD, this XD app should copy fonts or send the screendesign to my iPhone.

I guess the only other way is to view it via the web...
