How Do I import my website in Adobe XD

New Here ,
Sep 15, 2022 Sep 15, 2022

I just purchased Adobe XD purely for this purpose.

We are currently working on a site Bossmodapk makeover and it is currently hosted and live.

I expected I could import it into XD to more easily provide and communicate feedback/comments to my web developers.

If I cannot do this, I am going to cancel this purchase and request a refund.

Any instruction I find says to save to PDF, then open that via Adobe Illustrator, and copy and paste into XD. There is no Adobe Illustrator option for me.

Can someone please help?

Hi there,

Welcome to the XD Community.

Thank you for reaching out. We would like to inform you that you can use the plugin "Web Export," which allows you to extract HTML and CSS from your design.

You can also use Adobe XD plug-ins that allow for extracting HTML and CSS. Select Plugins > Discover Plugins and search using the webHTML, and CSS keywords.

Sharing a video from one of our Youtube experts on this topic.

Hope it helps.

Thanks,

Harshika

@hamza_4902 You can share the 'Prototype' link to a web developer to code the site for you. Yes, there are plug-ins, such as 'Anima' that can take your XD file and convert in into a HTML, CSS and JavaScript, but, you still need to tweak it and find a hosting company to host it. I use Hostinger because I was tired of Hostgator services and increase prices of 1000% for the plans. The plans at Hostinger are relatively affordable per month. It was like $1.99 a month. Thankful my student shared me his link, a plan discount -84% !

Hi

Adobe XD doesn’t support direct website imports, but you can:

Use screenshots for visual feedback.

Try browser tools like "Page Ruler" for measurements.

For smoother collaboration, your devs might benefit from a ucartz dedicated server ideal for staging sites before launch. Let me know if you need help setting it up!

Unfortunately, Adobe XD can’t directly import a live website and turn it into editable design files. The common workaround is to take full-page screenshots of your site (or export it to PDF), then bring those images into XD artboards where you can add comments and annotations for your developers.

If your only goal is to provide feedback on a live site rather than redesigning it, you might find it easier to use dedicated tools like MarkUp.io, Figma, or InVision; they let you comment directly on a running website without the extra steps.
Also, if your site is hosted somewhere that supports staging environments (many managed hosts like Ucartz offer this), you could create a staging copy of your site. That way, you can test changes, gather feedback, and collaborate with your dev team without affecting the live version.
