Image scaling inside a container

Advisor ,

When I select an image I get this bounding box with handle bars, but when I try to rescale the image the whole container scales with it and that's not what I want. When I double click the image I get what you see further down -  a bézier curve. The image inside the sirculare container is much bigger than the container in its original size, so I just wanna scale and re-position it so it fits better inside the container. What's happening here?

After double clicking the image itself:

For getting automation with repeat grids you might normally do the production needed to make the source images be the right size, or at least the right crop and aspect ratio.

You had dragged an image into the circle. Instead of that, put a circle on top of the image, select both, then use Object/Mask with Shape. Then you can double click into it and resize either the image or the shape.

I was hoping that you wouldn't say that Colin, cause masking creates a whole new beast. Then I'm not able to switch multiple images at once. If you look at my triplet of images I'm able to drag three new images in to my containers and replace them in one go. If I do the mask approach this feature is gone. That's what I experience at least, or have I missed out on something?
