Ref. Preview your prototypes on mobile devices

I have lots of published XD prototypes on my CC area yet I'm not able to see them on my Android mobile (Samsung S7) I'm always met with this screen after the app spends alot of time "scanning" with a preloader. I can't access anything that I have shared, not prototypes or XD files.  I'm logged into my account both on mobile and desktop.

Hi Perrybrus, we are aware of this and working towards the fix. As of now, here is what I would like to suggest.

If you wish to share any file, upload it using the web interface, it would be a zip file and you would have the option to share and download.

If you wish to preview it on any mobile device, please use the local Creative Cloud folder from your machine to upload the file to Creative Cloud.

This is how you may see the files online.

Now, as you have mentioned the issue with the thumbnail,

Hi Perrybrus,

Thanks for sharing the screenshot and details about this situation. Could you make sure that you are signed in to Adobe XD on your desktop and Adobe XD mobile with the same Adobe ID?

I would also request you to verify if you see those XD documents on Adobe Creative Cloud.

Thanks,

Atul_Saini

I'm using same login data for desktop and mobile login. Yes, I am logged into the accounts. All XD files that are uploaded to the CC gets zipped by default, as I have pointed out in a separate post. Don't know what format prototypes and design specs files gets converted into. I can't access any of them with XD app for Android.

Hi Perrybrus,

Please try the steps mentioned in this link: - Preview your prototypes on mobile devices it should definitely help.

If I try to narrow it down. please put the file in Creative Cloud folder on your machine. When you upload it to web, it uploads as a zip file. However, when you put that file in Creative Cloud folder on your machine, it appears as XD file.

Hope it helps, please update this discussion in case you need further assistance.

Thanks,

Nothing in that link resolved anything.

XD files gets zipped automatically when uploaded to CC Files. I'm not choosing that. That single XD files gets zipped is kinda pointless, I've written about that before but its out of my hands. The only files that gets zipped automatically on upload is .xd files. Prototypes ends up in the same directory as the design specs files, that is also rather odd as these are two different type of files. None of the are available trough the XD app for Android. It doesn't detect anything. Tried to install it again but still the same issue.

Perrybrus, could you please confirm if you are following the same workflow as mentioned below?

1. Open Creative Cloud folder on your machine.

2. Save or copy/paste the XD document to the Creative Cloud folder on your machine.

3. when you see green sync sign on the file. Please go to Adobe Creative Cloud and verify if you see the file uploaded there.

4. Open mobile app and check if you see that document in the list.

If you are uploading the file directly to the web it would appear as a zip file. Please update this discussion if this works out for you.

Thanks,

Atul_Saini

Something is totally off with this. When I copy from local drive to the CC folder on my machine the XD files appear as images in the CC UI panel online. Some of them appear as XD icons in the file list, other generate an image thumbnail. When I enter the XD files they are only displayed as image files in CC. When I go back, the XD icons are suddenly switched with image thumbnails but other files that were image thumbnails prior to this have switched to XD icons. Nevertheless I can't download any of them as XD files, so they are basically useless if the purpose is sharing native XD files on a cloud service.

When I upload directly from the upload function in CC all my XD files becomes single zipped files. This does not happen with any other Adobe native format I have uploaded, like AI, PSD. The CC service seems quite buggy and unstable if you ask me.

Hope this workaround helps for now, kindly let us know in case you need further assistance with this.

Think you have alot ground to cover in order to make this thing work. A few of the XD files that are oddly converted to images files fills the phones screen estate but most just becomes a narrow down sized version. The same art boards converted to images are proportionally correct when viewed in InVision. I downloaded the CC app and viewed the same XD files there, then all the XD files were displaying at same size but in proportion with the screen resolution or screen size, they are all down sized but less than in XD mobile app. Again, the very same art boards exported to images looks correct inside InVision.
