Prototype-Option "Fix position when scrolling" disappears after today's update in XD.

You have updated Adobe XD to the latest version

The button disappeared "Fix position when scrolling"

I do not know how to fix this problem

It appears in Prototype mode. Switch workspace to Prototype, select an object and "Fixed position when scrolling" checkbox becomes active in the right panel.

With the huge caveat that I can only get Fix Position When Scrolling to appear on a single object that is not inside a group. Makes it tough to keep all of the parts and pieces together.

This comment alone just solved it for me after an hour of searching because it has changed so often. Anything within a group does not have the option of 'fix position when scrolling'. Confusingly, it doesn't even show the possibility if you select something from within a group. Seriously, for a program that is helping us design good user experiences, this is a horrible user experience.

Tips for the dev team:

  1. Leave the 'scrolling' section where it is in the prototype sidebar, but make it light grey (inactive) if it can't currently be used! Like all of your other interactions, it shows you can do it but only when you complete the steps prior! The fact that it isn't there at all gives the user no indication anywhere that it is something you can actually do.
  2. While it is greyed out (inactive) can you put a little info hover so that it tells people that items within a group cannot be fixed? That way we know how to fix it.

Thankyou devs, I know your job is hard but this one is a bit of a UX fail

I have a component selected in prototype mode, but there is no "Fix position when scrolling", moreover I am sure there used to be one. the selected component is selected for sure, it's blue, and on other artboards it used to work perfectly. I really am beginning to get frustrated, could someone please help?

(XD 24.4.22) If you copy a Desktop artboard content (all layers from an artboard) into a Mobile artboard (or any other artboard) the system will automatically group all the layers into one folder, It's easy to miss! ungroup all layers/folders from this automated group folder, then select a component and "Fix position when scrolling" will be visible again.

Hi, I cant seem to figure out how to fix positions in Adobe xd. All the tutorials and articles are from previous updates. How can an element or object get a fixed position on my artboards? Thanks.

I am also merging this post with the similar post.

Would be wonderful if Adobe would be so kind as to put a comment about this update on their Youtube tutorial video (seeing as how commenting is disabled for you and me). It's a small but massively frustrating experience to follow the company's own tutorial and then arrive at a dialog where the command is simply missing from the product's UI.

For what it's worth, when I first made an artboard be taller, this help panel appeared. If I hadn't seen it, I too would have been confused. I guess the main problem case will be people continuing to work on something where they had already set the artboard heights.

Hello i was trying the fixed position for my header as mentioned above.

I see that the issue is fixed for the iPhone version but the same still is unsolved in the web design version.
i have tried in both the Design and Prototype workspace, the option is not available.
i wanted clarity if this is not available in the WEB design version at all or it was missed out in the update??
Hope to get clarity on this issue as soon as possible.

Why is it Adobe can't seem to decide where features belong? Constantly moving things around without making it clear. All tutorials on the web now incorrectly refer to the old position of the checkbox and I thought I was going crazy.

After updating, I did not find it. I tried to switch to the prototype, but it also didn't appear. please return it to the beginning.

Its simple!

1. select the element you want to be fixed on scroll
2. go to prototype mode and on the right panel at the bottom select "fix position when scrolling"
3. Booyah!! you are good to go.

I thought I was going crazy - the option seems to have disappeared completely.

I have selected an object (top header area, grouped, brought to top) and STILL don't see the box to check. Even in prototype mode. What's going on? Where did they hide it...and WHY did they do this? It seems like it must have been a pushed update, not an opt-in so there wasn't any warning about this changed functionality.
