In AE 22.4 Beta updates since March 17th on my Mac M1 Macbook Pro Max, I can't pull down menus any more.  When I click a second time, the dropdown flashes on/open for half of a second and sometimes I can quickly click on something with the mouse button held down but they are not working correctly.

I was lucky after a few attempts to even be able to click on the Beta Feedback button's pulldown menu

Hi @DavidB,

Thank you for reporting this issue. Our team is aware that After Effects on macOS Monterey can sometimes get into this state and we investigating how to prevent it from happening. There is a workaround as well when this happens: click the After Effects (Beta) icon in the Dock. This should get After Effects out of the state where the top-level menus aren't being shown. Please let us know if this doesn't get After Effects out of this bad state, as that might indicate this is a different issue than the one we are aware of.

Does this happen consistently or often on your M1 Max? If so, a screen recording of After Effects (Beta) launching would be helpful to us to see how the app is getting into this bad state.

Thanks again for reporting this issue and for any additional information you can provide,

- John, After Effects Engineering Team

Hello -

this is also happening to me with AE 22.2.1 in MacOs Monterey 12.2.1

I tried clicking the dock icon and that springs it back to life. When the app boots up, it seems to not display the home "Welcome to After Effects" screen, and when you hit the dock icon it pops it right back up. Seems like I have to do it each time I start the app, though.
